Someone said in this forum how do you disprove opinion? also there are some that think opinions are Truth. It all falls down to whether the statement is true or not. let me give some links

the state of being the case : fact : the body of real things, events, and facts : actuality often capitalized : a transcendent fundamental or spiritual reality

It is okay to have an opinion but..............

Also Using Subjective Examples such as food can still be proven or disproven Philosophy . relating to or of the ]nature of an object as it is known in the mind as distinct from a thing in itself.

I give links to definitions for people to be enlightened.

What is fact vs opinion? Fact refers to something that is true, and truth is what actually is, or in reality. Opinions is well statements not necessarily based on fact and therefore are not always true. Keep in mind opinions can be true but that all depends on the reasoning. Think of this as an enlightenment thread A general discussion as means to learn something you have not known.

how do you handle fact and Opinion and what does it mean to you?, Rest assured, unlike most threads I will not argue against viewpoints here, just do not personally attack me because that's when I make it my duty to respond and carry on and yes I am talking to certain individuals.

So you want to philosophize on facts and opinions?

One thing I have learned in my years. No amount of facts can force an opinion to change.

Most opinions revolve around preferences. A persons preference is indeed a fact.

For example, I think blue is the best color in the world. Just because you may think brown is the best color in the world does not mean that, to me, blue is not the best.

Too subjective, but in a sense you are correct.

One thing is for certain, that nothing is certain, if this statement is true, it is also false.

well said. let me leave a quote by Socrates. "I am intelligent because I know that I know nothing" 6 years and I still go back to this quote from time to time.

The OP has failed to make their point.

You don't disprove opinion. Opinions are not things that can be dis-proven. However, you can change opinion.

As far as facts, those are harder to establish than many might think, simply because facts can be disagreed with as well, especially on the basis of how they are worded. Take the first sentence of my post as an example. I chose, on purpose, to write a sentence using wording that was unnecessarily inflammatory. I could have written that "the OP did not make their point", but instead I used the word "fail." That word has greater negative connotations, and so, even though both sentences factually mean the same, they are read, and reacted to, very differently.

Too many people do not chose their words constructively, and use language that is unnecessarily negative, and so their facts and their opinions become mistaken and mislaid.

As for truth... Take whatever you think, and then whatever another thinks, and the truth will probably lay somewhere in between.

I hate to be that guy (I'm lying I LOVE to be that guy) but this isn't technically a grammatically correct sentence, so in a sense, that statement can ONLY be false.

Okay let me say, It is my opinion that the Timber wolf prime is the worst mech ever to hit the field.

It is my opnion that a ship using sails sails faster than a motor boat.

it is my opinion that dogs are smarter than cats.

let me add something. to each of those statements.

It is my opinion that Timberwolf Prime's can be the worst mechs ever to field in a battle.

It is my opinion that sail boats can be faster than motor boats

it is my opinion that dogs can be smarter than cats.

Opinion can absolute be correct, but its only proven so by evidence.

for instance I can say that it is my opinion that I can run faster faster than you. I can by all means prove that to be true.

Or we can use a mech warrior online as an example. It is my or was my opinion that they were not actually working on any new maps; However it was proven to be incorrect as they have two maps in the works.

And it is likely fact that in the worst possible Timber Wolf build you can make someone can be a boss in. Excluding purposeful broken builds (no armor, no ammo, things like that).

that can be, I build a mech on my preference(exept my Prime variant) and do well.

That Fact can indeed be proven true; However if you exclude broken builds then it will not be the worst possible build. Kinda relative to the pilot skill so that falls under subjectivity.

hmm. I see what your saying.

You're not using opinion correctly.

Firstly you need some context, calling the Timberwolf simply "the worst mech" is too vague to really judge.

You could say "the Timberwolf is horrible to drive", that would be your opinion. No matter how many people tell you they enjoy it or show you videos of them enjoying it, your opinion would still be that it is horrible. To change your opinion they would have to change your attitude (what you want from the experience) or the experience itself (by teaching you ways to make the Timberwolf more effective or enjoyable).

A big point about opinions is they are subjective and are to do with how you feel about something.

You could also say "the Timberwolf has the worst performance" (and for argument's sake we'll say performance is to do with the amount of damage and number of kills in a match). This is you stating a fact, it might be an inaccurate fact but people will be able to check the numbers and say whether or not it is. If another mech performs more poorly according to whatever metric you've decided then your statement is wrong.

A big point about facts is they are objective and to do with how things actually are.
